Philippine Federation of Chemistry Societies Announces New Officers and Trustees for 2026–2027

The Philippine Federation of Chemistry Societies (PFCS) is pleased to announce its newly elected Officers and Trustees, chosen during the Q3 PFCS Board Meeting held on 15 August 2026 at Luxent Hotel, Quezon City.

The new PFCS Officers are:

  • President: Voltaire G. Organo, PhD Professor, Department of Physical Science & Mathematics, University of the Philippines Manila
  • Vice President: Christina A. Binag, PhD Professor, Department of Chemistry, University of Santo Tomas
  • Secretary: Maria Carmela Q. Capule, RCh, MPS, PhD Chief Operating Officer, CRL Environmental Corporation Compliance Director/Assistant to the President, Analytical Support Services for Environmental Technologies, Inc. (ASSET)
  • Treasurer: Maria Florencia N. Male, LPT Science Coordinator, Reedley International School
  • Auditor: David P. Peñaloza, Jr., PhD Professor, Department of Chemistry, De La Salle University
  • Public Information Officer: Mark L. Grageda President and General Manager, Berris Agricultural Company Inc.

The PFCS Trustees are:

PFCS extends its heartfelt gratitude to the past officers and trustees whose dedication and leadership have strengthened the chemistry community across the Philippines.

In particular, the Federation honors Dr. Glenn V. Alea, who served as PFCS President from 2017 to 2026. Under Dr. Alea’s nearly decade-long leadership, PFCS deepened collaboration among academic institutions, industry, and government agencies. His vision and commitment have left a lasting impact on chemistry education, research, and practice in the country.

The newly elected Officers and Trustees build on this strong foundation as they continue PFCS’s mission to advance chemistry for national development and public welfare.
